Town Clerk

It is the duty of the Town Clerk to receive and process all official records of the Town.  All Land Records are processed, recorded, microfilmed and indexed.  Conveyance Tax is collected and money turned over to the Town Treasurer monthly.  State Conveyance Tax is collected and remitted to Hartford every ten days.  Vital Statistics are recorded and monthly reports are sent to the State.  Dog licenses are sold with monthly reports and money being sent to the State.  Marriage licenses are issued.  Ordinance Books, Sub-division regulations, Inland-wetlands Regulations and Maps are sold.  Bethlehem Municipal Refuse Disposal Area Permits are issued.  Land transfers are reported to the Assessors, Tax Collector and the State.  The Town Clerk also performs duties in connection with Elections and Referendums throughout the year, attends all Town Meetings (recording minutes in the Town Journal), and receives and files minutes of all Commissions and Boards.

Absentee Voting Information 


Connecticut law allows you to receive an absentee ballot if you cannot appear at your assigned polling place on election day for any of the following reasons:

1.       My active service in the Armed Forces of the United States

2.       My absence from the town of residence

3.       Sickness

4.       My religious tenets forbid secular activity on the day of the election, primary or referendum

5.       My duties as a primary, election or referendum official at a polling place other than my own during all of the hours of voting

6.       Physical disability

To receive an absentee ballot, please complete and sign an application and return it to the Town Clerk.

The Bethlehem Town Clerk has made its land indices and records available online with records beginning June 8, 1937 to current. Recorded Land images are available from January 1946 to current.
