10. 1/5/26. Happy New Year to all! Please remember that there will be a special election to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education of Region 14. This will be held on Wednesday January 7 at 6:00PM in the auditorium of Nonnewaug High School. Ray

11. 1/14/26. There is more cold weather on the way. The severe cold weather protocol is activated from 5 pm Thursday January 15 to noon on Friday January 16. Pursuant to this protocol the Bethlehem designated warming center is Memorial Hall. Any resident in need of a warming facility should contact Tom O'Neil, Emergency Management Coordinator on 203-528-6646 for access to the Hall. Stay warm. Ray

12. 1/18/24.  The Department of Emergency Management has again activated the severe cold weather protocol from 5 pm Monday January 19 to noon on Wednesday January 21. Pursuant to this protocol the Bethlehem designated warming center is Memorial Hall. 13. 1/21/26. Friendly reminder- There will be a Special Town Meeting on January 29th at 7:30 for the purposes of appropriation of funding for the rehabilitation of

Flanders Road and adoption of a sidewalk ordinance. Details on both of these agenda items are posted in the Notices/News section of this website. Ray

14. 1/23/26.  Due to the impending severe snow storm forecasted for Sunday/Monday, the Town Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday. Sorry for the inconvenience but concern for the safety of the our attendants there, all of whom live out of town, motivates me to take this action. Please try to stay off the roads and let out Public Works crews do their job in clearing the roads. Stay safe. Ray

16. 1/23/26. Due to the storm Town Hall will be closed on Monday 1/26. 

17. 1/25/26. The storm has begun and the Governor has declared a state of emergency. In Bethlehem, Fire, Police, Ambulance, Public Works and Emergency Management have been briefed, are prepared, and are standing by as need demands. Please comply with a voluntary parking ban on all town roads.  Stay safe. Ray

18. 2/3/26. We are due for more truly cold weather. Memorial Hall is our designated warming Center. The cold weather advisory will continue until noon on 2/10.  Any resident in need of a warming facility should contact Tom O'Neil, Emergency Management Coordinator on 203-528-6646 for access to the Hall.  Ray

20. 2/12/26. In recognition of the birthdays our two greatest presidents, Town Hall will be closed Monday 2/16. Please take few moments over the long weekend and reflect on the leadership qualities of excellence demonstrated by these great men: integrity; honor; compassion; valor; honesty; selfless commitment to service.  Ray

21. 2/13/26. Friendly reminder: please come to the Winter Festival sponsored by the the Parks and Recreation Commission, this Sunday 2/15, 11:00AM to 2:00PM. There will be kids activities, ice fishing, hot dogs and hot cocoa, a bon fire and loads of winter fun. The weather looks perfect! Ray

22. 2/21/26.  A major winter storm is currently forecasted to hit the Town starting late Sunday afternoon (2/22) and continuing through Monday morning (2/23). 24. 2/22/26. A blizzard warning has been issued for Litchfield County by the CT Department of Emergency Services from 4:00PM this afternoon till 7:00PM Monday. Bethlehem's Emergency Management Operations Team met and completed preparations for the storm. Fire, Police, Ambulance, Public Works and Town Government are prepared and standing by. Please remove all parked cars for Town roads and avoid travel for the duration of the storm. Ray
