Summer Camp Director

Summer Camp Director (Seasonal Position) An individual who is enthusiastic about Summer Camp and has great leadership skills. This position oversees all aspects of camp with safety for everyone as a main concern.

Duties will include:  Preseason hours preparing for the camp season. Working with the Parks and Recreation Director preparing supply lists, coordinating weekly activities, creating schedules and procedures for staff and campers. Update the welcome packet for Campers and Staff, including discipline policy.  Attend and help coordinate hiring and training for camp staff.  Oversee the day-to-day operations of the camp. Provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among campers and all staff. Monitor safety whether it be activities, equipment, and the Park.  Plan, Originate, organize, and carry out all daily activities.  Complete weekly rosters and provide lifeguards with each camper’s necessary information.  Assign staff to camp groups, give daily activities and duties. Evaluate staff, making sure assistance or further direction is not needed.  Set and supervise opening and closing procedures.  Maintain and enforce all camp safety rules and policies. Be able to recognize, prevent, and correct all safety issues. Act as a key player in problem solving any staff, camper, or parental concerns; be able to identify and respond to any issues.  Communicates and reports to the Parks and Recreation Director regularly. Report on any issues with staff, campers, maintenance, the public, etc.  Record daily camp attendance.  Post Season hours will include working with the Parks and Recreation Director on Staff performance reviews, community volunteer hours letter, inventory, and review of camp as a whole.

Expected Work Schedule:  Pre and Post Camp hours required- TBD  June 22, 2026 - August 14, 2026- 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday

Requirements:  Prior experience at a Camp  Management experience  CPR/First Aid training every two years  Blood Borne Pathogen Training  Must be minimum of 21 years of age
